Accesibility Statement

VallitaCo (“VallitaCo”, “we”, “us” or “our”) wants as many people as possible to be able to access and enjoy the content on www.rosiross.com (the “Site”). This statement describes what we do to make the Site accessible, where we fall short, and how you can tell us about problems.

Accessible Content and Features

We aim to release new features and designs that follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. This includes:

  • Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and resolutions, so content is easier to view on different devices.
  • Clear and consistent navigation and headings, which make it easier to find information and to move around the Site with a screen reader.
  • High color contrast and a readable default font size (16px), to make the Site easier to read for people with low vision.
  • Consistent design patterns that clearly identify buttons and links on each page.
  • Regular testing of the Site for accessibility, and steps to improve it where needed.

AbilityNet provides free guidance on making your computer, tablet, or phone more accessible, whatever your ability or disability. It offers help with seeing the screen, using a keyboard and mouse, hearing sounds, and reading and spelling: https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk/

Some documents on the Site may be provided as PDFs. Most PDF viewers have built-in accessibility features that can help.

Content and Features That Are Not Fully Accessible

We understand the importance of following the WCAG, but we recognize that not every area, feature, or piece of content on the Site is fully accessible. In general, we do not fully meet the guidelines for our multimedia and visual content, including:

  • providing text transcripts for all non-live, web-based audio;
  • providing text transcripts or audio-only alternatives for all non-live, web-based video;
  • providing sign language video for media content that includes video;
  • meeting an enhanced contrast ratio of at least 7:1 for all text and images of text;
  • providing a way for users to choose their own background and foreground colors or change text size on the Site, although you can do this using your browser or other assistive tools;
  • providing glossaries or definitions for all words, abbreviations, or pronunciations that may be unfamiliar or used in a specific way; and
  • providing descriptive alternative text for every image.

In most cases, we have assessed the cost of fixing these issues and believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden.

Images

Our visual archive goes back to 2015. Some of our images have been upscaled to HD using artificial intelligence, and older images may not yet have descriptive alternative text. We are working to add descriptions over time, starting with our most-viewed pages.

Third-Party Services

We use some third-party services on the Site, such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp for our newsletter, and our contact form. We try to use any accessibility features these services provide, but we can only offer what each service makes available.

Your Feedback

We welcome feedback about accessibility. If you have trouble using any part of the Site, or have suggestions on how we can improve it, please email us at privacy@rosiross.com. Tell us the page you were on, what problem you ran into, and the device and assistive technology you use if you can, and we will do our best to help or to provide the information in another format.
