Satisfying your appetite for an adventure this cosmopolitan island provides whatever you desire! Let’s make clear this is an all-night-long party island and a favored destination in Greece for the high-end class, artists, and movie stars.

Meet the Windmills!

One of the most photographed, best sunset spots and the main attraction of Mykonos. These windmills are the first thing seen when coming into the harbor of Alefkandra, as they stand on a hill overlooking the area. And most of them are facing the north to harness the enormous power of the wind. There are currently 16 windmills 5 of which are currently well maintained and 1 of them has been transformed into a Museum (Boni Museum). They were used to mill wheat and barley, an important source of income for the inhabitants.

Shop at Matoyianni Street

Matoyianni street is a haven for shopaholics! And it’s the center of activity in Mykonos Town both day and night. Shopping is a high fashion experience. You can find the latest collections of clothing and shoes from top designers. Both local and worldwide and plenty of souvenir shops and handmade jewelry designers and sellers. There are locally made arts, crafts, and decorative items that are laid out along the narrow streets. Stores and boutiques selling unique items, antiques, and items made from local materials are around every corner too. There are also galleries, cafes, restaurants, food stalls, and even bars to visit on this street.

Get a Drink on Little Venice

One of Mykonos’ most famous spots is “Little Venice” in Chora. It is called “little Venice” forย its similarity to Venice, a distinctive city in Italy. Mykonos is the Ibiza of Greece. It’s always a place to meet and greet people from around the world mainly around the area of Little Venice. The whole area around it offers plenty of spots to sit, drink and enjoy sunsets.

Walk by the Old Port

Many areas are pedestrianized in the old port. And this makes it easy for tourists to crossroads the beach, cafes, or shops. You can see the visibility of Agios Nikolaos, the patron saint of fishermen and sailors. The Manto Mavrogenous, a heroine of the Greek War of Independence, and the flower-draped Matoyianni area. This is where fashion stores and boutique lines the streets. Three identical 18th-century wells, the historical homes, the iconic Windmills, and Little Venice. The old port is the main place of transit. The new port by difference is the main port including an area for big Cruises. It is on the other side of the city, giving a more private and spacious space to the maritime traffic. The old port is perfect for a beach walk, drinks, or local food taste.

Party at Scorpios

For people who want to party exclusively, this place is for you! Scorpios are a luxury, trendy restaurant/bar with excellent food and service. Its busiest days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays so if you want to visit to experience its fine dining restaurant,ย  choose another day of the week to avoid a big crush on the crowds. Scorpios organized a program called sunset Ritual. Meaning to raise awareness, connect like-minded people, inspire change and promote mindfulness. My favorite spot on the island!

Try Gyros and Original Greek Wine

Gyrus is a Greek dish made a certain way. They usually include traditional gyro meat, which is made with pork, chicken, and lamb. Plus, tzatziki, onions, tomatoes, feta cheese, and Greek oregano. Cooked in a vertical rotisserie and usually served wrapped in a flatbread such as Pita. What would delicious Gyros and Greek wine be without each other? Greece is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world and among the first wine-producing territories in Europe.
